Today my youngest daughter asked if I wanted to watch Superfriends with her. I said "Sure!" And when the DVD started, a flood of childhood memories came back.
At some point in the distant past, we may have all seen or heard of the Superfriends. The show was from the early to mid '70s, which meant it was made on a shoestring budget. The story lines are thin at best, but reflect an era where cartoons were made more for entertainment purposes and not commercial value. But back to my daughter...
She started naming all the Suprefriends and telling me different things about them. And I found out she probably knows more about them then I do. Does anybody remember those nifty segments between the shows? They cover things like recycling or small projects on how to make something. Looking at it now, I would say these segments are the introduction of PSA (Public Service Announcements). And the message look different to me than when I was a kid.
Least to say, the hour we spent watching various Superfriend episodes was a time that we both got to be kids.
